How we work for you.

A simple 4 step design process that leaves no stone unturned and sets you up for success.

Step 1

Research & planning

In the first phase of packaging design, we research the competitor landscape and define your position within it.

We move quickly to dial in on your target market and understand what appeals to them and why, creating a plan that will see your brand challenge for attention at the highest level.

All research, planning and proposed strategy is documented and discussed with you during the early stages of the project - nothing is left to chance.

By selecting Smith Evans for packaging design, you are choosing a proven and experienced team that is committed to your long term success.

Step 2

Concepts & design

The strategic planning outcomes are poured over and our creative wizards then begin to craft your glorious design concepts. We’ll consult with you, and give advice where needed, on packaging types and materials, to ensure all concepts presented are actually achievable from a print aspect. It’s an exciting phase where your input and ideas, our years of packaging experience and creativity combine to bring forth a bold new look for your brand.

This phase usually results in two to three concepts, and if the brief demands it, something from left field may make it into the mix, sometimes the packaging road less traveled can prove very rewarding! These designs concepts that are developed are then presented to you for feedback.

Step 3

Execution

Phase three sees you absorb and process the design concepts. One concept might be a home run, no question. Or, there may be others that are close but need a little tweaking. Let’s openly discuss the revisions you’d like to make until we have a razor sharp final design that’s ready for market.

In this phase we apply the final design across a range if needed, or to a shipper or other packaging materials, all to a print ready state. The ultimate design that is approved sets the look that will be carried across all other products and branded elements, ensuring a consistent and professional look throughout all branded elements.

Your product now has a personality, a brand image, and is housed in truly eye-catching and professional packaging that’s ready to take the market by storm.
